Hardware and Hanging:
Always use use picture hangers for strength and security. We give the proper hardware with your custom framing order.
For heavy artwork (including mirrors) we suggest that you use "Floreat Hangers" (75 lb.) for artwork up to 150 lbs. If no wire is used, you should use 2 strap-hangers (or D-rings). These can hang directly off of the floreat hangers in the all, so weight is distributed equally.
Boats, Motor homes and Commercial sites should consider using Security Hangers that anchors your art to the wall to prevent slippage or theft.
Hang your pictures to create visual pleasure. Don't forget to include lamps and/or sconces to enhance your arrangement.
When hanging pictures above furniture, the rule of thumb is between 6-8 inches. If not above furniture, then hang your pictures at average eye-level.
Hang pictures according to scale. Support large furniture with large wall hangings and small furniture with small hangings to enhance the appearance and balance of your room.
Glass Info: Different types of glass are suitable for varied applications. Where the finished piece will hang may determine the type of glass that is best for you.
REGULAR CLEAR - The least expensive choice but offers little protection for your art.
REGULAR NON-GLARE - Regular glass that has been modified to reduce the amount of glare reflected by the glass.
CONSERVATION CLEAR- This looks like regular glass but it filters out 97% of harmful UV rays which come from both natural and fluorescent light sources.
CONSERVATION NON-GLARE - This is the same as conservation clear glass but includes a non-glare finish.
